More about this tour

Delphi is  one of the most ancient and historic sites in Greece and it is located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. In the past it was believed to be ‘the centre of the earth’ and played the role of the spiritual centre of the Greek world as it housed the most famous oracle in the country, dedicated to the Olympian god Apollo. Profound military and political figures from all over the Mediterranean would gather to receive a prophecy from the Oracle in exchange for gifts.

The famous Pythia, the high priestess of the Oracle was the one that channeled important prophesies while she was in a state of trance, and those who arrived to see her, were expecting her enigmatic words as the most important advise on their issues.
